How we embroider

The craft behind a clean stitch.

Embroidery quality is won in the preparation, not the machine. Here's what actually happens between your logo and the finished garment.

Digitized in-house, not auto-traced

Every logo is rebuilt in Wilcom as deliberate stitch paths rather than run through a one-click converter. We set the underlay that stabilizes the fabric before the top stitches land, choose stitch direction so the design catches the light the way it should, and dial in pull compensation so lettering and colour registration stay crisp as the fabric flexes under the needle. You approve a digitized proof before a single garment runs. It is slower than auto-tracing, and it is the difference between a logo that looks sharp on day one and one that still looks sharp after fifty washes.

Every stitch type and finish

Clean satin edges and fill stitches for crisp logos, 3D puff and raised lettering for dimension, appliqué for crests and large back pieces, tone-on-tone for understated luxury branding, and metallic threads when a piece needs to stand out. We match the technique to the design and the garment. Small lettering, gradients, and tight registration between colours are exactly where cheaper digitizing falls apart, and where ours holds up.

Built for the fabric

Cotton, performance knits, fleece, softshell, structured caps, fine merino, and delicate luxury blanks each move and mark differently under the needle. We select the right backing and stabilizer for the fabric's weight and stretch, hoop (or float, to avoid marking) accordingly, and set stitch density so a design never overpowers a fine knit. We test on the actual material before committing a premium garment.

Thread that lasts, inspected piece by piece

We run Isacord polyester thread. It is colourfast through industrial laundering and bleach, and abrasion-resistant at high stitch counts, which matters for healthcare, hospitality, and workwear. Thread weight and finish (matte, sheen, or metallic) are matched to the detail and the end-use, and colours are matched to your brand standard rather than "close enough." Every order is inspected stitch by stitch before it leaves the Toronto studio, so order one and order one thousand come out identical. You can preview how any Pantone or hex colour maps to our Isacord threads with Bossa ThreadMatch before you send your artwork.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

The questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, send it through and we'll answer directly.

Thread stitched directly into the garment using commercial machines. Done well, it outlasts the fabric itself. Every design is digitized in-house, proofed before production, and inspected piece by piece. The standard is the same whether it's a single jacket or a thousand-piece corporate order. Trusted by Canada's most premium brands for three decades.

Almost anything you can imagine. Polos, t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, hats, robes, towels, bags, blankets, soccer jerseys, hockey jerseys, lab coats, workwear, aprons, chef coats, baby blankets, even leather goods and headrest cushions. Bring in your own garment, pick something from our catalogue, or send a photo of what you have in mind and we'll tell you what's possible.

Yes, absolutely. A jacket you already love, garments your team sourced, a wedding party robe set, a vintage piece. Same machines, same quality checks. Your garment is treated like our own.

For embroidery, any format works: PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, PNG, JPG, even a clear phone photo. Our team will take it from there and digitize it for you. If you already have an EMB file from a previous shop, send that and we'll use it directly. You'll get a proof before we stitch anything.

Yes. Our in-house design team works with whatever you bring: a napkin sketch, a phone photo, an AI-generated image, a screenshot. We'll refine it, send you a proof, and only stitch once you're happy with how it looks.

Standard hoops handle up to about 12" × 14", enough for a full jacket back, coveralls, or anything else you can think of. Larger formats run on our wide-field setup when needed. Tell us where it's going and we'll confirm what's possible.

Yes. 3D puff (raised foam embroidery on caps and select garments) is one of our standard finishes. We also handle decorative stitch effects and appliqué on the same workflow.

Most standard orders ship within about a week of artwork approval. Smaller rush orders can often be faster. Tell us your deadline up front and we'll give you an honest answer.

Digitizing is a one-time setup per design. Once your logo is digitized and approved, it stays on file, with no re-charge on reorders, even years later.

No minimum. One jacket. One hat. One personalized gift. The same quality runs on a single piece as on a thousand.

Embroidery is built to outlast the garment, so it does not need special handling. We run Isacord polyester thread that stays colourfast through industrial laundering and bleach, which is why it holds up in healthcare, hospitality, and workwear. For most pieces, washing inside out on a normal cycle and avoiding excessive heat keeps both the stitching and the fabric looking their best.

Embroidery is the premium, durable choice for almost any garment: raised, stitched, and lasting the life of the piece, which is why premium brands choose it. DTF (direct-to-film) is the better fit when a design needs full-colour detail, photographs, or gradients that thread can't reproduce. Send us your artwork and tell us the end-use, and we'll recommend the finish that suits it.

Both. We ship Canada-wide by tracked courier, and you can also pick up at our Toronto studio at 100 The East Mall, Unit 10, often the same day once your order is finished. Let us know which you prefer when you order.
