A custom crest is built from six simple decisions. Here's what each one means, so you walk in knowing your options. None of these are locked in. Tell us what you like and we'll guide you the rest of the way.
Embroidered or printed (DTF), and the look and feel each gives.
How the outside of the patch is finished.
The base material the crest is built on.
The colours stitched into the design itself.
Only applies if you chose a merrow edge.
The backing is what holds your crest onto the garment. Pick from three options.
Don't worry about getting every detail right. Just tell us what you like, and we'll guide you through the rest.

The questions we hear most. Anything not covered, send it through.
A custom crest is a stand-alone decorated piece, embroidered or printed onto a fabric backing, then cut to the silhouette of your design, with a finished edge and your choice of attachment method. We digitize the artwork in-house, proof it before production, then build the crest to your exact spec. Canada's most premium brands have trusted us for three decades.
Any shape. Circles, ovals, shields, rectangles, irregular outlines, multi-piece layered shapes. We laser-cut the crest to the exact silhouette of your design.
From about 1" up to 12" or larger. Most branded crests sit between 2" and 5". We make full-back and banner-style crests too. Tell us where it's going and we'll suggest a size.
Three standard options: sew-on (classic, most durable through repeated washing), iron-on (heat-activated adhesive, quicker to apply), and velcro (hook and loop, swap crests in and out). If you're not sure which to pick, tell us a little about the garment and how the piece will be used and we'll recommend one.
Both are available. Embroidered crests are the traditional, most durable option, best for logos, badges, and pieces that will see heavy use. DTF crests are printed onto a fabric base, which works better for designs with photographic detail, gradients, or many fine colours that embroidery can't reproduce.
Two main finishes: merrow edge (the traditional thick rope border, works best on round, oval, or shield shapes) and laser-cut edge (clean precise outline, ideal for irregular custom shapes). We'll match the finish to the design.
Send us a clear photo, scan, or sample. We can often digitize from a photo when source artwork isn't around, which helps for memorial pieces, family crests, and badges whose original maker is no longer reachable. For individual customers, we won't reproduce copyrighted logos without written permission from the brand.
No minimum. We make one-off custom crests for personal jackets, family crests, and memorial pieces all the time. Larger runs scale down per-piece pricing.
Most crest orders are ready about a week after you approve the proof. We always proof the artwork before production so you can check it first. If you're on a deadline, ask about rush options when you order and we'll tell you what's possible.
Vector files (AI, EPS, or PDF) are best, but you don't need them. If all you have is a logo, a sketch, or a photo, we'll redraw it to vector and digitize it in-house. There's a one-time setup for that first crest, and it carries forward so identical reorders aren't charged setup again.
Embroidered crests are built to last the life of the garment and hold up to regular washing. Turn the piece inside out, wash cold, and skip high heat in the dryer. Sew-on backing is the most durable choice for anything that sees a lot of wash cycles, like uniforms.
Order standard crests through the shop. For complex pieces or unusual specs, send us the details.
